Snow Jacket

Oak-leaf green,
With more than a hint of army.

Built in snow skirt for warmth,
Under arm zips to keep cool.

How long have you had it now?
You couldn't tell.

When it snowed you gave it up for me,
Cocooned me.
Every fastener pulled in tight,
Till I was a walking duvet.

Rebellious green against a charcoal suit.
A single frog springing against a murky river,
Will always leave ripples.
